Additionally, just this past year, he won the Acadiana Community Hero Award and donated his winnings to the Lung Association. The Jeep Jaunt is run solely with John, his amazing family of seven siblings and the most supportive friends from all over Acadiana. All of the proceeds are dedicated to research, education, and advocacy to eradicate lung disease. All proceeds from this annual event go directly to the Lung Association. In the 10-year history, the Jeep Jaunt has raised well over $500,000 with close to 9,000 total participants. Funds are raised through registrations, promotional item sales, raffles, auction and donations. Ten years later, the Annual Jeep Jaunt fundraiser is a 40-mile police-escorted convoy of street-legal Jeeps and 4x4s from Celebrity Theatres in Broussard to Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel in Charenton every October.
